Federal Electronic Health Records Modernization Office Stand-up

In this project, Woodside quality played a vital role in providing strategic facilitation support during the establishment of the Federal Electronic Health Records Modernization (FEHRM) Office, ultimately leading to the achievement of Initial Operating Capability and the approval of the Final Operating Capability definition.

Background of the FEHRM Office
The FEHRM Office serves as the Program Management and Oversight office for the implementation of Electronic Health Records systems.

Strategic Importance
The FEHRM Office plays a crucial role in modernizing and harmonizing healthcare data management systems across the federal government, ensuring seamless and efficient healthcare delivery to service members and veterans.
Key Activities:
1. Developed curriculum and conducted training on program integration and alignment.
2. Updated the existing change management curriculum and performed a gap analysis in support of the VA-DOD EHRM office.
3. Facilitated and delivered training to multiple federal agencies.
4. Provided a "Recommendations" and "Lessons Learned" report. 

Additionally, Woodside quality provided additional facilitation support to the Agency Office on FEHRM-related tasks as directed by the client’s Interagency Collaboration.

Woodside quality supported and re-engineered Healthcare Supply Chain Processes for a federal healthcare facility, providing formal validation and re-engineering support to optimize functional and operational supply chain processes in healthcare facilities.

Woodside Quality identified the hurdles healthcare facilities face in their current supply chain processes to seek areas of improvement.

VHA VISN 20 Lean Management Systems

Woodside played a crucial role for a federal client by implementing the Lean Management System (LMS). The Lean Management System project aimed to implement efficient and effective management practices across the federal healthcare system. Woodside was instrumental in supporting the client's needs in efforts to bring Lean principles to federal healthcare. Woodside provided valuable expertise and guidance in the implementation of Lean Management Systems. Our role was crucial in ensuring the successful adoption of Lean practices. 

Providing Support and Training
• Providing on-site and virtual LMS launch support from pre-launch planning through execution and sustainment.
• Providing on-site and virtual LMS education, training, and mentoring through direct engagement in Lean activity, modeling, and oversight.
• Providing training and educational programs to develop, evaluate, and spread OSE-based, just-in-time (JIT) Lean training programs for leadership, management, front-line clinical staff, and administrative staff. Training included Yellow/Bronze Belt and/or Green/Silver Belt certification and/or Mid-Level Manager/Leading Organizational Improvement courses.
• Developed Leadership Lean expertise, as well as internal subject matter expertise within the organization, including but not limited to facility systems redesign and mid-level manager staff.
• Assisted in building interdisciplinary teams composed of facility systems redesign and federal clinical, technical, and administrative staff who develop Lean expertise and drive Lean philosophy/behaviors within the organization.
